The Lost Diaries of Capt (Dr) Arjun Khan

Last summer, I visited my ancestral home on the outskirts of Calcutta. My uncle, owner of the estate, had died a month earlier, and had bequeathed to me the personal journals of my great-great-granduncle Captain (Dr) Arjun Khan, late of the Bengal Medical Services, M.B.B.S. (Calcutta, failed). As an army medical officer, he had served under the Indian Army, the British Army in Africa, the Brooke Raj in Sarawak, and also received decorations from King Rama IV of Siam. My uncle had left these papers to me since he knew of my interest in wargaming. However, what he did not know was that I had no interest in colonial wargaming.

But that was before I read the journals of my great-great grand-uncle on his first arrival in Egypt...
