Die deutsche Befreiungskriege, 1806-1815

written by Mueller-Bohn and illustrated by Richard Knötel, Carl Röchling and others, published ca. 1910.

This beautifully illustrated 2 volume set on the German Wars of Liberation details Germany's struggle against France during the Napoleonic Wars. The text (in German) contains a detailed overview (with b+w maps) of all major Napoleonic battles involving Prussian troops - from the shattering defeat at Jena-Auerstädt, to the double victories of Leipzig and Waterloo.

The highlight of the book is the 40+ full colour illustrations (each measuring 34cm by 24cm) by such famous painters as Richard Knötel and Carl Röchling.
