Crisis south of Kroh, 17 Dec 1941

The Argylls charge to relieve the pressure on the Australians.  Their armoured car platoon is lost almost immediately to Japanese anti-tank fire!

The final Australian battalion (held in reserve til now) charges the hill!  The final Australian charge is repelled by the Japanese.  After 3 tough days of fighting, 27th Australian Brigade ceases to exist as an effective fighting force.

An Indian battalion (detached from 12th Indian) arrives.

Fresh Argylls and Indians charge the Japs in a desperate attempt to clear the road!

The Japs are finally cleared from the road on 20 December (after 4 days of fighting), but at what cost!
