The Battle of Jitra (page 2)

The Japs have taken Jitra town and the crossroads.  The leading Gurkha battalion is decimated.  The Japs continue their advance towards the bridge, just as it is blown! Meanwhile, a Jap tank in the distance burns after running through a minefield.

Jap commanders plan their next move.

The Tiger of Malaya surveys the map!

British commanders decide if they should pull back in the face of severe pressure.

The British withdrawal begins, covered by the 2nd Gurkha Rifles and the 2nd East Surreys.

As night falls, the 2nd Gurkha Rifles sell themselves dearly to cover the British withdrawal.  A mass of Jap tanks appears on the right flank across the river.
